The Founders

David

David, born in Lima, Peru, in 1988, studied Economics at Universidad del Pacífico before completing an exchange semester at NOVA School of Business and Economics in Lisbon—a turning point that sparked his connection with Portugal. After earning his degree, he worked for major companies like Colgate and later returned to Lisbon in 2014 to pursue a master’s at NOVA.

His career in finance included roles at multinational firms such as Nestlé and Siemens, along with international experience in Poland and Finland. In 2024, David chose to leave the corporate world and return to Portugal to launch his own venture. Partnering with Marco Leyva, he co-founded Lima Ceviche Bar, a seafood restaurant inspired by Peruvian cuisine.

Deeply committed to this project, David brings his management and financial expertise to the table, aiming to deliver an exceptional dining experience and make Lima Ceviche Bar a culinary reference in Lisbon.

Marco

Marco, born in Peru, is the owner of Lima Ceviche Bar in Lisbon. Originally trained as a lawyer, he transitioned into the hospitality world in 2007 studying International Bartending in Peru. He later trained as a sommelier at the Spanish Tasting School in Madrid and joined the Portuguese Sommeliers Association in 2010.

In Lisbon, he co-founded the city's first Peruvian restaurant, Qosqo (2012), followed by the opening of Wine&Pisco and later Pisco Peruvian Bar, Portugal’s first bar dedicated to Pisco. He also launched the import and distribution of Pisco through his company Muchik Lda.

Marco is a certified Pisco taster and an international wine and spirits judge, regularly collaborating with competitions like Virtus and Uva de Ouro. He also conducts free Pisco MasterClasses for sommelier students. A passionate advocate for wine, Pisco, and mixology, Marco continues to share his expertise through education, entrepreneurship, and international judging.
